Uncharted 3 is getting its biggest patch ever with the release of Patch 1.13. Referred to as "lucky number 13," the patch completely focuses on the multiplayer aspects of the game.
The patch is is a prelude to new multiplayer DLC that the team at Naughty Dog plan to start rolling out on the 14th this month. The DLC has to be unlocked by earning the necessary in-game character levels, by completing specific treasure sets, or purchasing an unlock on PSN.
The team plans to add 137 new pieces of items for use in the multiplayer mode, some of which can be seen in the video below:
In addition to the slate of new items, the new patch adds a new Tournament System for Uncharted 3—a points-based competition with three reward tiers that grant you special in-game weapons and items based on how well you play. Once you unlock a special weapon, it's yours to use until the next tournament period.
Players can buy into the tournament using tournament tickets, and you'll always have a balance of ten tickets per tournament. More will have to be purchased via PSN.
Finally, Naughty Dog plans to release new "experimental block mesh maps" which are coming to The Lab after patch 1.13 releases. These maps are maps of colored block mesh that have been designed by the artists and designers at Naughty Dog to provide "some wild and distinct multiplayer gameplay."
