New Overwatch PTR Build is Ready for Testing: Blizzard Wants You

November 23, 2016 by Katrina Filippidis

Symmetra gets redesigned with better, more active abilities

Overwatch’s freebie weekend might be over, but Blizzard has just revealed that a new Overwatch patch is available for public testing. The PTR (Public Test Region) is available only to PC users, and will be able to support a maximum of 10K players at once.

There are a few general updates, including a “stay as a team” feature which allows players to stay in the same group post match completion,  and a new ‘boop’ unlockable voice line for Sombra. The bulk of the update, however, is dedicated to hero balancing. Symmetra has gained some new abilities in the form of photon barrier (a replacement for photon shield), and shield generator – a new ultimate ability. Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan feels that the redesign of Symmetra’s character will make her more flexible as opposed to a character who can be used in specific situations only.

Haven’t tried Overwatch yet? You can grab it now for 40% off until November 28.
