Vigil Games has announced a new feature for Darksiders II and it will allow you to send your friends in-game items.
The developers are calling it Darksiders II's "Tome" system, it acts as the title's in-game emailing system. It will allow you to send messages to your friends and you can even attach up to four pieces of armor or weapons to each mail to trade or share items.
One important thing to remember though, once you attach an item and send it to your friend, it's removed from your inventory and delivered to theirs.
This Tome system is also the method in which players will be able to retrieve their pre-order items and other in-game awarded loot. Also, this is how players are alerted to special areas in the game that can now be accessible by the player.
It's certainly an interesting idea that Vigil is implementing multiplayer-based game mechanics to a single-player game. Is this something you think would be useful or as the game is a single-player affair, it's not really needed?
Darksiders II will be out on August 14 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
