Awesomenauts Patch Adds Fixes, Two New Characters

July 25, 2012 by Lana Polansky

One of the newest characters possesses a cat launcher. It’s exactly what it sounds like.

Awesomenauts, Romino Games' over-the-top 2D side-scrolling MOBA, has just received a new patch that includes a bunch of fixes, as well as character stat alterations and buffs. What's more: Patch 1.1 also brings with it two new characters, Coco Nebulon and Derpl Zork.

Coco Nebulon is a support character from the watery Okeanos. She rides a hoverboard, on which her Blaze ability allows her to leave behind a trail that, one assumes, is meant to damage or slow enemies chasing her as she moves. Her Ball Lightning shoots out a lightning bomb that can be detonated at the discretion of the player.

Derpl Zork, who is described as a tank, is a highly intelligent slug in a mech walker. Derpl's serviceable snare trap can become a high-damage nuclear weapon in stationary siege mode, but that isn't the really fun part. What's really fun is that Mr. Zork carries with him a cat launcher. Yes, his basic attack launches literal cats. In siege mode, the launcher becomes a gatling gun (or should I say, catling gun? Haha. Ha. Ha.)

Awesomenauts is available on XBLA now for 800 Microsoft Points and is available on PSN for $9.99.
