There have been some high hopes for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film. This has been a film that has been in the works for quite some time, but as for some of the characters, fans have been questioning their role and purpose within the film. Today, thanks to a GamesRadar Facebook Live Q&A with Justin Kurzel, the director for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film, we have new details surrounding the character Maria.
The character Maria is being portrayed by actress Ariane Labed and this happens to be a completely new character for the film. Likewise, it has been said that Maria plays a sister type relationship when it comes to Michael Fassbender’s character Aguilar.
We can expect some exciting things for Maria as she’s not a typical love interest character. Instead, Maria is a warrior with fundamental ideas and is extremely strong. Though we’ll still have to see just how the character grows throughout the film narrative.
Likewise, another interesting aspect that was discussed was the possibility of a sequel. According to the director, the possibility of Assassin’s Creed sequels is endless and that’s through the power of the Animus technology. However, that doesn’t mean there are any confirmations of another Assassin’s Creed film set to release in the future.
Instead, Justin Kurzel would like to see how the movie plays out and if people embrace it. Although, if the film does become a massive hit, it’s quite likely we would see the Assassin’s Creed film franchise flesh out a bit more.
