Back in 2003, BioWare launched a well-received action-RPG title called Jade Empire. The video game went on to see several ports with the latest being handled by Aspyr Media for Apple iOS. That video game port seemed to have been set for a release today, but for now, the upcoming title has yet to make an appearance on the iOS app store.
Aspyr Media has ported past big name video game titles to handhelds before such as Stars Wars Knights of the Old Republic along with Indigo Prophecy. Their latest port in the works was Jade Empire and according to Touch Arcade who has already played through the port, the title would be based on the PC Special Edition.
This special edition version of Jade Empire would include a number of new weapons and martial art moves that were previously unavailable in the original title release.
Leading up to today, Aspyr Media has been hinting at a big video game release for the iOS market which was highly speculated that the game would be Jade Empire though no further news has been released. We’re pretty curious as to why the delay release us especially since Aspyr Media has kept a nice track record when it comes to their console video game ports.

Regardless, Jade Empire will likely release soon, but in the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see if Aspyr Media releases any further statements regarding their “mystery” video game that was originally set to launch today.
