There’s new fuel to the fire rumor that GTA 6 is coming to Switch 2.

While we’ve been reporting on rumors for a Switch 2 port for some time, Nintendo of America president Devon Pritchard recently said that this is a question for Take-Two and Rockstar.
That doesn’t mean that Nintendo is blocking or uninterested in a GTA 6 port. Nintendo published Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on the Switch, and they may themselves be waiting on Rockstar’s call.
As reported by GoNintendo, game studio Double Eleven has raised new speculation that this port is at least in the works. Double Eleven ported Red Dead Redemption on the Switch and Switch 2.
They are looking for a new C++ lead programmer and principal low-level graphics programmer. The latter job listing indicates they regard experience on Switch and Switch 2 as a bonus.
Without getting lost in the jargon, Double Eleven is making a highly specialized port for full optimization. That sounds like what you would need if you were bringing a sophisticated game like GTA 6 – or Red Dead Redemption 2 – to the Switch 2.
