XBOX has once again made good on one of the things their fans have wanted forever.
They made this announcement on XBOX Newswire:
Starting today, XBOX Insiders can get an early look at Mythic Achievements, a new way to celebrate the games you’ve completed and the milestones you’ve earned along the way.
…You earn a Mythic Achievement when you complete all original achievements for a game. Achievements added later through DLC or updates aren’t required, and once you’ve earned Mythic status, it’s yours to keep.
XBOX is also changing the way you experience Achievements. XBOX profiles will show achievements and Gamerscore milestones in a new Gaming tab. Mythics are highlighted with a heroic frame.
Furthermore, user achievement lists will have progress bars to show how close they are to earning a Mythic.
Mythics will be retroactively awarded to XBOX users who already earned them in their library, but only newly unlocked Mythics will be getting toasts.
Mythics are XBOX’s answer to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies. It’s wild that XBOX CEO Asha Sharma only took weeks to add what fans have asked for for decades.
