We have new rumors regarding the state of Halo Studios, following XBOX’s announcements this week.

XBOX just announced that Activision is making the next Halo game, taking it away from Halo Studios completely. The studio has itself been gutted of employees, and will only function to support their most recent games.
Rebs Gaming revealed in a new video that Pierre Hintze actually remains head of Halo Studios. XBOX allowed him to handpick which employees would remain, and he chose staff from his inner circle.
While Pierre has been taken off new Halo games, the community would find the fact that he remains employed unacceptable, for reasons we’ve covered here.
Rebs also revealed that Pierre was preparing pitches for remakes of Halo 2 and 3, Halo 7, and a smaller Halo game based on the novel Halo First Strike. If any of these were approved, they would still take years to release.
Rebs says Pierre still hopes to pitch new Halo games using AI, but XBOX and Activision are unlikely to approve them. This is one situation where it’s arguably justifiable to take people off the payroll.
