XBOX has reshuffled the deck on their studios and developers across the company.

As explained by Matt Booty on XBOX Newswire, this is the latest update on their reset, and it’s a complete change to their structure. To sum:
- Activision is now in charge of Rare, World’s Edge, and the next Halo title.
- Bethesda is now in charge of Obsidian.
- UK based Playground Games and US based Turn10 Studios are now combining into one studio.
- Halo Studios has been trimmed down to a smaller team, to continue support for current Halo games and the community.
Just as last June, XBOX has settled on laying off an additional 268 staff. These layoffs are split between Halo Studios, some of their other game studios, and notably Xbox Game Studios management.
We’re still waiting for more official statements and insider information, but it should be clear right here that all these studios, and XBOX as a whole, are entering a drastic metamorphosis.
