Dusk Golem believes Resident Evil Veronica will need more time in the oven.
He said this in social media a few hours ago:
Oh boy, well I’ve heard it three times from three different people now, so I guess I have potentially bad news to report on Resident Evil Veronica.
There is a high chance it might’ve slipped into a Fall 2027 release.
…I was aware they were making some late changes to the game, the scope & time to do such were a bit in the air, but if this is true, I am guessing they determined it’d take longer than they’d like & maybe decided to go more ambitious with some changes.
This definitely was not their plan from the start, but hey, I do get that video game dev is chaotic
Dusk Golem also believes this is why Capcom skipped TGS this year. But he’s not entirely accurate that Capcom didn’t announce a release date. When they announced the game, they committed to a 2027 release.
In any case, the first half of 2027 is also filled with big releases, so it won’t hurt gamers that much to wait a few more months.
