We have some interesting rumors going around about Sony, Hideo Kojima, and Physint.
Community member astaranx shared a clip from Hideo Kojima’s Koji 10 podcast with this claim:
Kojima deny Jason Schreier claims about the reasons of the end of his collaboration with PlayStation.
Again media tried to push a false narrative to cover Sony but it failed.
We couldn’t trace which episode of Koji 10 this comes from. Kojima explained that he stayed in budget for Death Stranding, and made key decisions on where to spend it. For example, after choosing to cast Mads Mikkelsen, he decided players couldn’t enter cities.
Jason Schreier didn’t claim Kojima went over budget for Death Standing however. In his latest video, Jason explains that both Death Stranding games underperformed.
It was Physint that missed milestones and was going over budget, which was why Sony chose to cancel it. For the record, Jason was also clear he was only relaying what his sources told him.
While gamers argue over this, Kojima is hosting his new production partner Asha Sharma in KojiPro’s studio in Japan. We wouldn’t be surprised if he chimed in on all of this again.
