The Duskbloods already hit an interesting achievement even while it’s still having network tests.

As translated by GamesRadar, FromSoftware producer Yasuhiro Kitao revealed in a Famitsu interview that The Duskbloods had more players for its network test than Elden Ring Nightreign did for theirs. GamesRadar translation quoted Kitao saying:
We were really surprised.
To put this in context, Elden Ring Nightreign network test signups happened in January 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and were held in February. Between the two consoles, they would have had 120 + million consoles sold.
In the meantime, Switch 2’s confirmed console sales stand at 23.69 million units since last June. The Duskbloods network tests just finished this weekend, with signups held last month.
Furthermore, The Duskbloods’ network test signups required active Switch Online accounts, while Elden Ring Nightreign’s signups did not require PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold.
All of this is to say that the larger potential number of registrants didn’t accurately reflect the actual number of players. Subsequently, FromSoftware’s player base may have appeared for the Switch 2 in high numbers to test their next game, and they may have already decided to buy it too.
