Dave Bautista is officially in as Kratos.

Variety reports that Dave has officially signed on to replace Ryan Hurst in the God of War show’s titular role. He was rumored to be in negotiations for the role at the start of this month.
Variety also explains the circumstances behind this signing. As you may already know, Ryan had to be replaced after being injured on set.
Amazon signed for two seasons to be shot back to back, and filming started all the way back in February. Ryan’s exit was genuinely damaging to the production as all his scenes have to be re-filmed again.
So we can imagine that signing Dave was much more expensive than Ryan. This was Amazon doing the best they could to rescue this production.
The God of War show had previously experienced development troubles when its original producers dropped out of the show.
Obviously the MCU star and former WWE champion will elevate this production based on his name value alone. If everything turns out right, this could be Sony’s biggest adaptation of their own IP since The Last Of Us.
