The most unexpected rumor just came up regarding Nintendo and Xbox.
As Nintendo Prime explains, Shpeshal Nick came up on one of his recent livestreams. While chat was joking with him about Xbox bringing Halo, Gears of War, or Doom: The Dark Ages coming to Nintendo Switch 2, he made this surprising response:
I think they’re trying to make Halo happen, there’s an amiibo ready for it.
Nintendo Prime went on to speculate that the Halo amiibo could be for either Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to Switch 2, or Master Chief joining the next Super Smash Bros.
However, we would point out here that it’s absolutely feasible for the Switch 2 to run Halo: Campaign Evolved, whether that’s a game Nintendo fans would buy or not.
Of course, we all remember the day XBOX CEO Asha Sharma heralded the return of XBOX exclusives, but XBOX remains one of Nintendo’s biggest third party publishers. This may have been something Phil Spencer planned that Asha and her team are reconsidering at the moment.
So this rumor could be true but these plans could be cancelled. We’ll see what XBOX decides to do soon enough.
