Rumor: Jeff Grubb Claims State Of Play Is Happening “The Week Of February 12”

January 27, 2026 by Ryan Parreno

Next month will be interesting for sure.

Jeff Grubb is backing rumors of a State of Play next month.

Yesterday, Nate the Hate claimed that a State of Play is scheduled for February, but he did not drop a specific date.

In the latest episode of Game Mess, Grubb talked about Nate’s rumor and then said this:

Yeah, I agree. It is. It’s happening on February 12th. Um, so there you go. I guess it’s probably always safe to say the week of February 12th.

… Could happen on any of the days there, but yes. Uh, and it sounds like it’s going to be a pretty sizable one is probably how I would describe it.

Not don’t expect like the world because it’s a State of Play and not a PlayStation showcase.

As we pointed out yesterday, it would be a good opportunity for Sony to reveal an unannounced 1st party game. But if Nintendo also has a Nintendo Direct one week before them, Sony will probably be prepared with some big announcements and presentations.
