007 First Light Features Lenny Kravitz After Accidental Leak

December 11, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Our main villain has appeared.

IO Interactive is preparing its next big release for the marketplace. After years of handling the Hitman franchise, they are trading suits. Instead of focusing on Agent 47, they are working with an even more iconic and world-renowned spy, James Bond 007. This agent is known for his allure, action-packed fights, and traveling to locations all over the world to save the day. It’s been a while since we got our last official 007 game, so we’re more than ready for 007 First Light.

While we know it’s in the works and should be coming our way early next year, a leak might have spoiled the main antagonist. Or, it at least spoils who is portraying this character. Don’t worry, it’s not a big secret, since it’s featured in a game trailer that happened to get posted online a bit early.

Lenny Kravitz Steps Into 007 First Light

The iconic musician is stepping into the role of the big bad in 007 First Light. Thanks to the folks at Insider Gaming, we are learning today that the marketing team behind the project accidentally posted the new trailer for this upcoming title early on X. It was a quick mistake that was also rectified quickly. Unfortunately for IO Interactive, viewers had already seen and even acquired the video before its removal.

Now, viewers can head over to places like ResetEra to watch the video. Of course, it might just be a matter of hours before the official video is released again. Tonight we have The Game Awards, which is filled not only with awards handed out to development teams for their accomplishments this year, but also a slew of new game announcements and updated marketing materials. So, it could be that this was a trailer intended for release during The Game Awards and was loaded onto various social media platforms to post afterward.

That’s, of course, speculation. At the very least, we know who will be stepping into the role of James Bond’s main antagonist. Now we just have to see if the developers can deliver this game. While they have experience with stealth gameplay in Hitman, I’m sure they’ll be adding a lot more action, including vehicular travel, based on what we know of the James Bond franchise.

Fortunately, we don’t have too long a wait. For those interested in 007 First Light, you can expect the game to release on March 27, 2026, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, for you Hitman fans out there, don’t count the franchise out for very long, as there are still plans to revisit Agent 47 later on.
