FiveM has pushed GTA RP forward with its newest announcement, Alchemist.

What Is Alchemist?
As explained by RockstarIntel, Alchemist is a conversion tool for Grand Theft Auto Online. It takes assets that were originally made for Grand Theft Auto V and makes them work on Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition.
FiveM game studio CFX.RE explained that this is only the first of several updates to facilitate GTA RP’s move from Grand Theft Auto V to Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition.
What Does This Mean For GTA Mods And RP?
This is what regular people would refer to as a game-changer. We’ll let CFX.RE explain it in their own words:
When selecting a folder, Alchemist will automatically identify all GTAV Legacy assets inside subfolders and convert them to the GTAV Enhanced format inside the selected target directory.
It will also copy any surrounding files, like your scripts, interfaces, and configuration files, but will not alter them.
So, on one level, if you were playing Grand Theft Auto V with mods but had to leave them behind for Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition, this tool will now allow you to use those mods on the newer version.
But of course, CFX.RE would not have put this much work if it wasn’t necessary. So it really serves a higher purpose.
Alchemist is intended to make GTA RP servers move from Grand Theft Auto V to Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition easily.
Up until now, GTA RP server holders had to take extra effort to convert their assets individually so that they could work on Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition.
As you may have suspected, there are quite a few servers that hadn’t made the jump. If the servers aren’t that small, or the server mods don’t have that much money, they would not have bothered.
And so, this serves the purpose of allowing everyone to move to Grand Theft Auto V: Enhanced Edition, if they want to.
The real question for now is how well will Alchemist work in its stated function. Hopefully, Rockstar’s support went a long way in supporting CFX.RE.
It’s entirely possible that without Rockstar’s technical support and financial backing that a tool like Alchemist may not have even been possible.
What Else Could Be In GTA RP’s Future?
While CFX.RE does not drop any hints at it, Alchemist could be the first step in bringing GTA RP over to consoles. If we’re lucky, they could get this off the ground for Grand Theft Auto V players now, while everyone waits for Grand Theft Auto 6.
