Red Dead Online Kicks Off Its Hardcore Overrun Series Today

November 11, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Claim the land and score some extra rewards in the process.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was a massive hit for Rockstar Games, showcasing the talented team behind it. Developers raised the bar with the incredible level of detail, as the game still looks gorgeous today. However, beyond that, it’s just a fun western outlaw game with a storyline that keeps you hooked until the credits eventually roll. Likewise, there’s a reason to keep playing, and that’s Red Dead Online.

Unfortunately, much like Grand Theft Auto V, we didn’t receive a single-player campaign DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games instead focused on the multiplayer component. So, Red Dead Online is your only official option to continue enjoying new content. That said, a new celebration is underway this month, accompanied by a few extra goodies for players to unlock.

Red Dead Online Latest Featured Series Kicked Off Today

If you were roaming the wild western frontier last month, then you know there was a focus on horror. Rockstar Games was celebrating the Halloween spooky season in Red Dead Online. Now, the mood has shifted as we all prepare for a Thanksgiving meal with family and loved ones. As we approach the holiday event at the end of this month, Red Dead Online is offering you some content to explore.

We have already learned what is coming to the game this month. However, what we would like to point out is that a new Featured Series event is starting today. Each week, a new Featured Series event is available, offering players 3X RDO$, Gold, and XP. For this week, we’re focusing on the Hardcore Overrun Series.

If you’re familiar with the Hardcore series, those are variants that make the PvP modes a little more challenging. So don’t go in expecting to be a deadeye when you start the game. For those of you who haven’t played Overrun, it’s a PvP game that pits two teams against each other. Players have a limited amount of time to claim territory on the map.

To claim the territory, players must stand in the designated area for it to be registered to their team. However, the moment an opposing player steps into the area, it will revert. Likewise, if two players from opposing teams meet in the same area, the area will remain unchanged until either player leaves or is eliminated.

Players interested in the extra goodies will have a week to go through this Featured Series. That said, we do know that starting on November 18, 2025, another Featured Series will take its place. Meanwhile, for those of you looking for some extra content, regardless of whether it’s officially from Rockstar Games, you might want to check out this new mod that is gaining quite a bit of attention online.
