Rockstar has put the spotlight on a thrilling little Adversary Mode that’s live for this week.

They made this tweet today:

Judgement Day returns to GTA Online, pitting powerful Riders against the Hunted in an all-out war until the break of dawn.

Get 2X GTA$ and RP (4X for GTA+ Members) in Judgement Day — part of the Featured Series through October 15.

What Is Judgement Day?

This Adversary Mode comes with this description:

The end is coming and it’s survival of the quickest, as the Riders chase down the Hunted. The Riders win if they manage to eradicate the Hunted.

The Hunted only need to survive – but, if they succeed in killing a Rider, they can bring their fallen comrades back into the fight.

This mode splits players between Riders and Hunted. The Riders get to use skeleton themed motorcycles called Sanctuses.

They also get an insane loadout of weapons and abilities, including double barrel shotguns, stone hatchets, thermal vision, infinite lives, health regeneration, and a heartbeat sense.

The Riders get four minutes to hunt down the Hunted. In that time, the Hunted can fight back by using weapons found around the map.

They only start out with pistols, but they definitely have a chance to turn things around. If a Hunted can take out a Rider, all their dead teammates will rejoin the game.

When the four minutes are up, it strikes dawn. At that point, the Riders lose all their abilities.

At the same time, the Hunted can no longer be resurrected. This is the most tense period because it’s when everything flips against the Riders.

If any of the Hunted are still alive after five minutes, they win.

The Reel World Of Bike Horror B-Movies

This may be a really small niche for cult film lovers. But after the outlaw biker movie genre peaked in the 1960s, there was a smaller trend of horror themed outlaw bike movies.

This includes 1971 genre mashup Werewolves on Wheels, and supernatural thrillers like 1973’s The Death Wheelers.

But we get it. These movies are so old that even people who grew up playing the first Grand Theft Auto games won’t even know about them.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the people at Rockstar know about these films and were inspired by them.

In any case, if you’re a b-movie fan, you can live out your favorite Roger Corman/Golan Globus/Lloyd Kaufman fantasies in the world of Grand Theft Auto this week.
