Borderlands 4 Stats Show How Far Players Have Gone For Kills and Loot Since Launch

September 18, 2025 by Todd Black

You’ve been doing a lot so far, Vault Hunters!

If we’re being honest, one of the coolest things that developers do when they have a hit game is that they’ll occasionally drop “stat sheets” to show just what players have been up to in the title. Why is that cool? Simply put, it gives perspective on how much is happening while players enjoy the game, and what their “mindsets are” as they approach things like combat or trying to get the best gear. For example, Borderlands 4 has plenty of things to do, and many paths in which to take to get glory, guns, and gore after killing foes. So, the question becomes, just how bonkers did fans get during their journey in the game’s first week?

The game’s official Twitter handle posted a stat sheet of just that on Tuesday, and the numbers are both revealing and hilarious. For example, gamers died 4.5 million times via the “unfortunate end” of getting hit by a grenade, and nearly 350K fell into toxic goo! Yuck.

On the loot side of things, by Tuesday, over 760 million items had been looted on the world of Kairos, which is a lot, obviously. However, 1.5 million were looted from outhouses! That says quite a lot about where players “think good loot will be,” and apparently, they weren’t wrong to think that…we suppose… Almost 500K were looted from trash cans! That proves why you shouldn’t throw something away unless it’s ACTUALLY garbage.

Now, as for how many feats have happened “on the road,” over 16 million vehicles have been destroyed so far! We’re going to hope that those were all enemy vehicles and not the ones you’ve been driving… Such reckless abandon would not be appreciated. Well, unless you were using your cars as weapons to kill the enemy. That would be cool.

Finally, the boss stats are arguably the most interesting, as players have fought bosses big and small over 62 million times, defeated 55 million bosses, and you all failed over 16 million times. Hey, but at least you tried!

Vault Hunters! You unleashed SO MUCH mayhem during Borderlands 4's launch weekend. You get the Break Free Pack PLUS two ECHO-4 Drone Skins!

In the end, Borderlands 4 clearly has the attention of players, even if the game isn’t exactly running at “full power” like many feel it should be. Players are making the most of their Vault Hunting experience, and the more they play, the more they’re likely to enjoy.

Oh, and Gearbox Software gave out some Shift Codes to reward players for their epicness! Nice job, everyone!
