Borderlands 4 Fan Wants To Catalogue Legendary Weapons In The Game

September 9, 2025 by Todd Black

That might take a while.

How dedicated are you to the video games you play? For some of you, “dedication” may simply mean going and doing everything you can within the title before you move on. A true “completionist run,” if you will. For others, you might work at a place that allows you to write about your favorite new games and why they’re special, or you’ll jump onto YouTube and make a special video chronicling your journey within the game or why you like it so much. You do you! It’s all about your passion. For one Borderlands 4 fan, though, they’re taking their passion in a different direction.

As you’ll see below, one fan named Mental Mars noted on his Twitter that he intended to catalogue all the “legendary loot” that you can get in the game. Given that the title has over 30 billion guns, that’s a lot of potential legendary weapons to find and catalogue so that others can know about them. It’s not an impossible task, and he’s already got a site dedicated to it, but it will take a while, and so he’s clearly got a lot of time, patience, and dedication to the task at hand.

I have indexed every Borderlands 4 legendary I could find and will update my database when new discoveries are made

One of the ironies here is that Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford noted that he felt his team was “obsessed” when making the game, and now, we have a case of a fan being “obsessed” with a certain kind of task and wanting to get it done. Who knows? Maybe he’ll work for Gearbox one day and be able to pass on his own level of “obsession” to the others.

Going back to the weapons for a sec, we know that Borderlands 4 will follow the path that the previous entries did regarding its weapons, such as having all different types for the Vault Hunters to use, and being made by different companies. That means that collecting as many as possible is vital so you can get the right weapon to match the builds you’re going for with your character.

Plus, you’ll want to get the weapons that do the most damage or take out your foes in the most spectacular way so you can laugh with glee as they’re eradicated before your very eyes.

So, yeah, for one person to try to catalogue a lot of these weapons will be quite a task indeed, and we wish them luck in their endeavors. After all, whether it’s fighting or cataloguing, their ain’t no rest for the wicked.
