Red Dead Redemption 2 is still a massive hit. This game might have been released years ago by now. However, it still holds up incredibly well, and fans are not done exploring the world with Arthur Morgan. A new post on Reddit suggests that there’s probably still stuff tucked away on the map for you to uncover. That blows my mind, and now I’m eager to replay the game to see what I can find during my next journey.
There are numerous events and encounters available for players in Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games wanted the world to feel alive with a reason to explore it. You’ll find a wide variety of areas marked on your map, pointing you towards some optional quests you can take part in. However, there are plenty of other secrets that will play out just from you exploring the world. So, don’t be afraid to go off the beaten path. Well, that might not exactly be ideal for this encounter.
Players Are Still Uncovering Red Dead Redemption 2 Night Folk
You’ll find a few notable factions and groups in Red Dead Redemption 2. However, there is one particular spooky faction that makes exploration a little uneasy. In fact, some players are still encountering these factions after pouring countless hours into the game. We’re, of course, referring to the Night Folk.
This is a faction that can be found in the swamps of Bayou Nwa and Bluewater Marsh. While you can see them during the day, they are far more likely to appear at night, hence their name. These people are often silent and camouflaged, wearing torn clothing. Likewise, they only use bows and melee weapons to attack.
Seeking easy targets, the Night Folk will attempt to rob people before murdering them and leaving their bodies dismembered across the swamp. As showcased in the embedded Reddit post, people are still just finding out about this faction years later. Some might not realize that there is an encounter that plays out at night where your horse will get caught by the Night Folk, preventing it from returning to you. When Arthur goes towards the horse icon, he’ll end up getting jumped by several Night Folk members.
If you successfully fight them off, Arthur Morgan can calm his horse and take off. So, it goes without saying that it’s not ideal to explore the swamps, especially at night. But if you haven’t seen this encounter play out, you might want to venture that way when the sun starts to set. Of course, there might also be more than a few newcomers trying out this game, according to the recent PlayStation charts.
