Pokemon Legends Z-A Reveals Its Next Mega-Evolved Pokemon!

August 28, 2025 by Todd Black

He’s coming to the ring with some extra power!

When it comes to games like Pokemon Legends Z-A, they want to have certain “hooks” that will draw you in so that you can be excited for what you’re about to experience. In this case, The Pokemon Company has a lot to offer, just like with the previous entry that focused on Hisui/Sinnoh. You’ll be in Lumiose City for the entirety of the game and be doing various tasks to try and keep the city safe. One of those tasks is trying to solve the mystery behind the “rampaging Mega-Evolved Pokemon.” Traditionally, these Pokemon can’t evolve without a Mega Stone and a trainer, but in Lumiose City, that’s starting to change.

Mega Evolution was something that was teased for Pokemon Legends Z-A since the beginning, and The Pokemon Company, along with some well-timed leaks, have noted that lots of new Pokemon would be getting the Mega Evolution “touch.” Previously, we heard about Dragonite getting the “tap,” and then, last week, we got a full-on video highlighting Victreebel and its Mega Evolution. Today, we got the reveal of the newest Mega-Evolved form, and it comes from fan-favorite fighter Hawlucha!

As you’ll see in the video below, the game highlights how Hawlucha is naturally, including showing off its personal style and flair as a “luchador Pokemon.” However, upon seeing a Machamp, it wants to take it on, as it’s clearly a worthy opponent.

In fact, it might be too worthy an opponent, as it has to Mega Evolve to survive! Check out Hawlucha’s new form below:

Unlike certain other Mega-Evolved Pokemon, this change in look actually feels “right.” As we just mentioned, Hawlucha is meant to invoke the feeling of a luchador, and this Mega Evolution embraces that by taking it to a whole new level. For example, Hawlucha is a bit of a “lightweight” in its regular form. But with Mega Evolution, it grows into a heavyweight. We also see a change in Hawlucha’s “garb,” embracing new and even flashier designs to help it stand out even more from the crowd. It’s also clear that it learns new moves and has a greater impact on the foe, not unlike a wrestler who has trained a lot for a big title match.

All in all, this is a worthy Mega Evolution to the list, and the list will keep growing. It’s clear The Pokemon Company will do more videos like these to reveal who else is getting a new form, and it all leads up to the game’s release on October 16th.
