Silent Hill fans are waiting for the next major video game drop. After Konami brought this franchise back into the limelight, it saw some real success. That’s thanks to Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake. Now, the next major game to come out for the IP is Silent Hill F.

The new installment is not coming from Bloober Team this time around. Instead, this title is being developed under NeoBards Entertainment. Likewise, the author behind the game, Ryukishi07, recently had a panel during an Anime Expo event. This panel was all about Silent Hill F, and now we’re learning that the author might have scaled things back a little.

Ryukishi07 Opted To Pull Back On Character Development

Thanks to Famitsu, which was translated through Google, we’re finding out that Ryuksihi07 noted that typically, he packs a lot of character development in his storylines. However, it was deliberately decided to just focus on one theme and carefully construct the storyline around it.

The author went on to note that Silent Hill typically has two aspects, which range from horror to supernatural, described as a salad dressing; it’s a blend of these two mixes that work perfectly for the video game series. At first, you’ll go through the game where the two blend seamlessly before you can finally pick them apart.

Of course, we’re still waiting to learn more about the storyline and theme, but the author did note that you can view it in a few different ways. That could be a story of sadness or even love. But, again, we’ll have to wait for this one to come out before we can really even dissect the theme.

Silent Hill F Premise So Far

That said, we do know a few things about this game. Silent Hill F is set to take place in a Japanese town during the 1960s. This is a good step away from the franchise norm of being set within the town of Silent Hill. Furthermore, we know that players will be put into the role of a high school student named Hinako who finds the otherworld slowly creeping in.

Currently, players interested in picking up Silent Hill F can expect it on September 25, 2025. When it does release, you’ll find it available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, those of you more keen on Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake might want to make note that they have already been confirmed to remake the original Silent Hill game.
