Mass Effect TV Series Shares Same Production Crew Behind Fallout

July 22, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Mass Effect could be in good hands.

There’s a real boom going on right now with video games getting adapted into TV series or films. What’s surprising is just how well some of these productions are turning out. Rather than being a shell of its IP, the adaptations are sticking close to the source material, giving not only fans of the video games something to enjoy, but viewers who are not gamers. One production that is expected to receive a big positive reception is Mass Effect.

We learned late last year that Mass Effect would be getting a series adaptation on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon has already seen immense success in producing a TV series based on a video game franchise with Fallout. While not directly adapting any specific game from the series, the Fallout TV series effectively captures the spirit of the video game franchise.

Fallout’s Production Team Is Also Behind Mass Effect Adaptation

The rumor circulating online right now is that Fallout’s production team is also working on the Mass Effect series. This isn’t new information, but a previous post from Daniel Casey. This writer has worked on various films, including F9: The Fast Saga.

However, he’s also been put in charge of writing and executive producer duties for Mass Effect. Thanks to Eurogamer, we’re learning that Daniel Casey posted on Instagram last year, revealing that the same team behind Fallout is working on the series. At the time, it was noted that the writer’s room would be starting early this year, with the only halt so far being that the team was paused due to the strikes.

Of course, we know next to nothing right now about the TV series. We might be in the dark for a good little while still. However, at least we know that the Fallout team has proven they can deliver a solid adaptation. Now, here’s hoping they can do it again with this upcoming Mass Effect series.

As for Fallout, we know that the Fallout 76 team is working on some tie-ins for the upcoming season of the show. Meanwhile, we learned earlier this year that BioWare was downsizing as they transitioned to Mass Effect 5.
