Rumor: Pikmin 4 Among The Next Set Of Games To Receive A Switch 2 Upgrade

July 8, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Is Nintendo still pushing Pikmin 4?

Nintendo has continued to ride the wave with its latest big console release, the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s a game console that many players worldwide have been eagerly awaiting. Now that it’s finally in our hands, we’re waiting for the next set of big game releases to arrive. To help keep players engaged with even their current Switch library, we’ve seen upgrades released. These upgrades offer another reason to either revisit a game you’ve already played on the last-generation Switch console or an incentive to check them out for the first time finally. One of the next games rumored to receive an upgrade is Pikmin 4.

The rumor originates from Nash Weedle, who has a mixed track record. While they have been on point with some of the claims in the past, not everything has come to fruition. As with any rumor, take this with a grain of salt, as we don’t have any official information at the moment. With that said, Nash Weedle noted that Pikmin 4 is one of the next games to receive an upgrade on the Switch 2, with the game supposedly coming with some new additions.

You can find some Switch games getting a performance upgrade. However, other Switch games have received a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition release that comes packed with more than a performance upgrade. For instance, you can discover new ways to enjoy the game, with aspects tied directly to the Nintendo Switch 2, such as the Joy-Con mouse controls. Other games have included content that utilizes the microphone and a compatible USB-C camera.

Just what exactly the Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 edition will receive is all speculative right now. We’ve seen comments online, hopeful that this could mean a new biome addition to the game. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see if we receive a formal announcement.

This wasn’t the only shred of rumors to pop up online from Nash Weedle recently. We also reported on their claim that Nintendo Switch 2 themes will be available on the console after this year. Perhaps we’ll get some confirmation on one of these rumors during a supposed Nintendo Direct presentation that is also rumored to happen this month.
