Halo Studios has made an official tease, of sorts, for a pending announcement for something Halo related, that some fans think already know what it is.

In October 2024, 343 Industries revealed their rebrand to Halo Studios. At the same time, they revealed they were leaving behind their internal Slipspace Engine to make their next Halo projects on Unreal 5. They also showed us “A New Dawn”, a huge demonstration of their progress in making Halo on Unreal at that point.
Since then, speculation ran wild about what Halo Studios could have in the cards. Of course, we expect a new Halo game in the future, and they are currently supporting Halo Infinite, but could they be making something else in between?
In January this year, Nate The Hate claimed in his podcast that Halo: The Master Chief Collection would come to PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. This rumor appeared before Microsoft released the lion’s share of their titles, including Forza Horizon and Gears of War, announced and/or released on PlayStation 5, so it seemed like a wild, if exciting, rumor at the time.
More recently, just last month, dataminers found evidence of a Halo game in the PlayStation API. This is not confirmation of Halo: The Master Chief Collection or Halo Infinite coming to the PlayStation 5 per se, but it was a strong indicator that PlayStation gamers could get something Halo related.
That takes us to today, as Halo Studios themselves shared an update about this year’s upcoming Halo World Championships. In a recent post, they said this:
For us, “A New Dawn” was just the beginning – at this year’s HaloWC, we look forward to continuing the conversation.
Speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship. We really hope you’ll join us in Seattle this October!
Once again, this is not a confirmation that Halo: The Master Chief Collection or Halo Infinite is coming to the PlayStation 5 or the Switch 2, and truthfully, it could also be something else. For example, they could be launching a Halo dedicated ROG Ally, which has the games installed and ready to play. These handhelds, or other Xbox branded handhelds, could be tweaked specifically to play Halo.
They could also make an entirely new Halo game, potentially a smaller experience. And they could do all of these at the same time. For those who can make the trip, the 2025 Halo World Championships will be held at the Seattle Convention Centre from October 24 to 26. You can access the link to buy tickets from here.
