The reboot of the Homefront series from THQ has now arrived. Homefront: The Revolution takes place four years after the initial Korean occupation of the United States. You and your rebel brothers and sisters must inspire the people of Philadelphia to arrive against the forces that have taken over.
It’s an open world CRYENGINE game, where Guerrilla warfare tactics take charge. You recruit new resistance members, build bases and safehouses, and customize and upgrade your arsenal. You can play it in single player, or take it to Co-Op and fight alongside your friends online.
But with the game’s reveal also comes the first details on Homefront: The Revolution‘s expansion pass. The Voice of Freedom and Aftermath expansions are scheduled to release in 2016, with Beyond the Walls coming in 2017. Expansion pass holders get a free Resistance Crate every week, whenever they log into Resistance Mode. In addition, they get three new starting backgrounds for their character.
Homefront: The Revolution‘s online Resistance Mode launches with six missions, with more arriving in June. Any additional Resistance Mode missions added will be done so for free.
It’s now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in North America. The rest of the world can play on May 20th.
