Monster Hunter Wilds Success Comes In Part For Its Story Says Producer

Did Monster Hunter Wilds’ narrative keep your interest?

Monster Hunter Wilds is now available to buy and enjoy. This game was worth waiting for, considering how well critics and fans have reviewed the game. Looking back at the game, one producer suggests that the positive reception for this installment comes in part because of the narrative storyline developers provided.

This time, there’s more focus on its story for Monster Hunter fans. We have a narrative that keeps players progressing but also helps hand-hold newcomers. If you ever felt that the Monster Hunter games were a bit complex to get into, this might be the installment to roll with. However, Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto recently spoke about the game’s success to The Nikkei.

Thanks to Automaton, we have a translation of what was said. During their conversations, Ryozo says the popularity came from the new emphasis on the storyline. With the characters being fully voiced, there’s a new level of immersion to give players as they progress through the game. Likewise, another part of why the series producer feels this game has done so well in the marketplace is cross-play.

Cross-platform support is big for fans who can now connect online despite being on different platforms. Of course, there might be some wondering if this trend of keeping a narrative in focus will play a big role in future installments. With Monster Hunter Wilds being a fast-selling title for Capcom, we could see them keeping the same formula for the next major game installment.
