Grand Theft Auto 6 Retailer Reveals An Alarming Price Tag

March 11, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Whoa, let’s slow down here.

There is so much hype built around Grand Theft Auto 6. Personally, I think because it’s so incredibly hyped, it’s allowing Rockstar Games to ease off marketing. You have enough chatter, speculation, and rumors flooding the web about this game that fans are marketing it for Rockstar. Still, that doesn’t mean all the posts online for this upcoming game are positive. One new report has fans incredibly concerned over its potential price tag.

We’ve seen reports in the past that Grand Theft Auto 6 could be a far more expensive game than the standard AAA price tag we see these days. Normally, a new AAA game now will run you $69.99. However, Grand Theft Auto 6 might come in at over $100. Previous reports indicated that we might see the upcoming game at $100, but now, thanks to Dexerto, a new retailer posting has it at $112.

The report noted that this is from a Swiss retailer called Brack. Through conversions, the price tag for the game would come in at around $112. That’s quite a bit of money, and some suggest this could be a placeholder amount until the official word has come from the folks at Rockstar Games.

Meanwhile, Dexerto notes that this retailer has been reliable in the past on its listings. So, fans have been worried online that we might be digging a whole lot deeper into our pockets to secure this game at launch. Likewise, if you plan to wait it out, you might be waiting a very long time before it comes below the standard current cost of a new AAA game.

Of course, another big concern fans might have if Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive release this game at over $69.99 is that this will lead other companies to follow suit. Video games could become far more expensive if that’s the case, and who knows how well that will go over with consumers.

But for now, take this all as nothing more than a rumor. We don’t officially have anything new to reveal about Grand Theft Auto 6. However, it’s still slated to launch into the marketplace this year. When it does launch, one analyst says this might be the last hurrah for Xbox.
