Sim City V is currently in the early stages of development at Maxis and is expected to launch next year. That's according to German gaming mag GameStar (via NeoGAF), who were lucky enough to nab a preview of the still unannounced title in their latest issue..
As the first numbered entry first numbered Sim City game in nearly a decade, Sim City V promises to finally bring some long-overdue upgrades to the franchise, including full 3D graphics, a more dynamic camera, and the ability to build winding roads. That's right, you'll no longer be forced to build everything on a strict orthogonal grid.
Sim City V will apparently also feature an online multiplayer component that allows you to compete for resources, trade with other players, as well as follow what's happening in other cities via a real-time news ticker.
EA is expected to officially reveal Sim City V at during their Game Changers event at GDC on March 6.
In the meantime, you can keep occupied by looking at the rest of the concept art and imagining what it would look like if a tornado, earthquake, and alien attack hit the city all at once.
