Geoff Keighley, known for his work with the annual The Game Awards ceremony, has just announced through his Twitter account that he is working on a new Game Awards show, but this time it’s centered around kids. This will stream through DreamWorksTV live in October and it’s described by Variety as it being similar to the Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony that is held on the Nickelodeon network.
Not too many details were announced about the upcoming kids video game award show, though it was picked up by the YouTube broadcasting network by DreamWorks Animation. We do know, however, that the show will be made up of an advisory board of Activision, Nintendo, and Warner Bros. Because Geoff Keighley is attached to the project, one can speculate that he’ll also host the show much like his The Game Awards ceremony.
Stay tuned for the @kidsgameawards coming live later this year, new show I’m making in partnership with @DreamWorksTV

Kids will be able to vote for their favorite video games to win through various categories while fan favorite professional gamers, celebrities, and musicians will present the awards. What we’re interested in seeing is just what categories will be made up within this kids-based award show and just what video games will make the list. Despite video game franchise like Call of Duty being filled with children online, it’s doubtful that a mature rated video game will be available for votes.
As mentioned, the Kids’ Game Awards will be streaming live at some point this October on the DreamWorksTV YouTube channel.
