Pokemon TV Is Coming Back Via YouTube!

December 3, 2024 by Todd Black

Making it easier to watch’em all!

There are many “simple pleasures” that fans of all kinds love to enjoy. When it comes to fans of certain TV shows, regardless of whether the show is live-action or animated, one of the simplest pleasures is going to a certain place and rewatching old episodes whenever they want. With certain streaming services, that is possible for many shows, but not all of them. For fans of a certain Pocket Monsters franchise, the ways that they can watch classic episodes of their favorite series have been very limited. However, Pokemon TV is coming back, which could allow much easier access to older seasons.

The news of this comes from fansite Serebii, which noted that The Pokemon Company opened a YouTube channel for Pokemon TV and promised that full episodes of the original anime would be on the channel. Admittedly, full details of the release schedule, which episodes will be released, and how long they’ll stay on the YouTube Channel aren’t known just yet. However, the fact that they’re doing this at all is very promising for fans, and many are already signing up for the channel.

Serebii Update: Pokémon TV is to return as an official YouTube channel hosting full episodes starting December 6th 2024

Originally, this service was an app that would have whole seasons of the original anime line featuring Ash Ketchup. Then, The Pokemon Company shut it down, and people had to hope for other ways to watch the original seasons, which was anything but easy. If The Pokemon Company is willing to put up whole seasons again, that could be a big boon to anime fans, as currently, Ash Ketchum’s aren’t on any of the main streaming services to our knowledge, which could make this TV channel a haven for those who want to appreciate the older episodes.

Why would they feel that way? Well, while there is a new anime series from the franchise out right now via Netflix, one could argue that it’s not hitting the same notes or levels of hype that the past one did. The adventures of Liko and Roy are unique, to be fair, but the ones with Ash Ketchum were much more pronounced, arguably better written, and helped take the franchise to new heights. Granted, things are still relatively young for the new series, as Season 2 hasn’t even debuted in the US yet. Whether it’ll get the run that the original anime with Ash had is anyone’s guess at this point.

Either way, franchise fans will want to keep an eye on the YouTube space on December 6th, as that’s when uploads will start dropping.
