Nintendo Reportedly Suing Streamer After Playing Pirated Games

The streamer was reportedly also very boastful.

Nintendo is not shy about playing with the idea of going after emulators, websites that host roms, or any pirated content of theirs. It looks like one streamer is finding that out the hard way after Nintendo reportedly gave them enough chances to cut the content out from their channels.

Thanks to a report from VGC, we’re finding out that Nintendo is directly going after a streamer named Every Game Guru. Nintendo’s reasonings for going after this individual is simply due to consistently streaming pirated content and giving followers all the information and links required to play Nintendo games illegally. This streamer was reportedly getting access to pirated content before games were released officially in the marketplace.

There’s a report of ten Nintendo leaked games being streamed. As mentioned, the streamer was also reportedly offering details for their audience on how to obtain these games. While Nintendo has continued to send out takedown notices, the streamer boasted that they have an endless supply of burner accounts.

Well, Nintendo has had enough of the games with the streamer and is now reportedly suing the streamer for $150,000 for each copyrighted work. That is quite a bit of money the streamer could be forced to pay. Again, this seemingly came after Nintendo attempted several times to get the streamer to cease going on with these streams and spreading leaked content.

We’ll have to wait and see if this case going forward and how it ends up being handled. Hopefully that gives enough of a warning to other streamers that might also be doing something similar with their channels. After all, while Every Game Guru had burner accounts, they were still using third party services to get donations like Cash App. So streamers can still make a profit from sharing pirated games, especially before they are released into the marketplace. But that might be short-lived as Nintendo is quickly pointing out with their lawsuit.
