There was quite a bit of anticipation built up over Silent Hill 2. The remake was initially frowned upon by the community of fans as Bloober Team was handling it. However, after its release, fans have praised the work the developers put into this remake. You had content from the original release and new fleshed-out areas within the game. But beyond that, there were some new little easter eggs to uncover.
One of the secrets that fans just uncovered was the polaroid photo puzzle. If you played through the game, you probably stumbled upon these photos throughout the map. Each photo offers a random number on the back. Well, it turns out those numbers correspond to letters of the alphabet.
On Reddit, a player managed to uncover the message the photos reveal. Apparently, the message given to players is, “You’ve been here for two decades,” which gives players a new theory. Before we jump into the theory, it was confirmed that this was the message on X from the creative director and lead designer at Bloober Team, Mateusz Lenart.
Fans are speculating that this could be a message alerting James that he’s been in a time loop for decades. That would be an indicator for the various bodies that resemble a deceased James throughout the game. However, it could also refer to players who have been enjoying this game since its original release for decades now.
Now, fans can continue searching for other secrets from the remake. If you have yet to play Silent Hill 2, the new release is available right now on both the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.
