Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Gets New Update

October 21, 2024 by Todd Black

Sometimes A Small Patch Is Useful!

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been about a month since the launch of The Legend Of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom on Nintendo Switch. The game was one of the many surprise announcements during the Nintendo Direct in June, and when it arrived, it was stated by critics and fans to be one of the most creative entries in the series’ long history. Currently, we don’t know how much the game has sold, outside of a few notes from Japan on the UK, but we do know that the team over at Nintendo and Grezzo have been working on smoothing out any issues the game may have had upon release.

The update, Ver 1.0.2., isn’t the longest update you’ll ever see, but it does fix some key issues with the game, as noted by the Nintendo Support Site. The biggest thing that might be helpful for those who haven’t been able to progress due to this is that some key bugs are getting fixed:

  • “Fixed an issue where an invisible wall at the entrance to Goron City would impede progress during a Main Quest at Eldin Volcano.”
  • “Fixed an issue at a particular location where the player could target empty space, then bind to that target and pull in a way that would impede progress.”

Obviously, any bugs that could hinder the main game’s progress are a bad thing and deserve to be fixed. We can speak for certain people who didn’t experience these bugs, but that makes it all the worse because that means that you’ll never know if you can hit something like this until you try it yourself.

The other main fix in the patch notes was about creating a “smoother gaming experience,” so likely some small tweaks to the various gameplay mechanics to ensure that the game is fun to try and play.

For those who don’t know much about The Legend Of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom, the game is the first true title starring Princess Zelda. She finds herself thrust into the role of the hero when Link frees her from Ganondorf’s clutches, only for him to be consumed by a mystery rift. These rifts appear all over Hyrule and take people with them every time.

Zelda meets a spirit named Tri, who will both assist her in stopping the rifts, and create special “Echoes” for the princess to use to solve various problems, while also fighting enemies.

The game is available now for purchase if you’re interested.
