Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Drops Story Trailer

September 16, 2024 by Todd Black

Just in case you don’t know the story already!

2024 has been full of remakes and remasters, for better and for worse. Some are Game of the Year contenders, and some are worthy upgrades to titles that people have been wanting to play again for years. Then, there are those that have kind of “fallen short” of what they should’ve been. In the case of the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, the Capcom classic is getting a visual overhaul to make the game line up with more modern times. Furthermore, the game’s story and gameplay remain as you would expect, with some necessary improvements to match the modern gaming era we’re in.

To help solidify that, a new story trailer for the title has dropped, and it brings people up to speed rather quickly about what’s going on. In this case, the town of Willamette, Colorado, has something strange going on within it, and one Frank West decides to investigate to get the scoop of a lifetime. However, the moment he arrives and goes into the local mall, he finds himself trapped there with a horde of zombies!

Once there, he frequently finds himself in contact with some of the town’s remaining survivors, and not all of them are entirely sane. That’s what the trailer hammers home. Who should you fear the most, the zombies or the humans? Either way, you’ll have to survive for three days before help arrives, and even then, the trailer makes it clear that “help” might not be what you’re looking for.

One of the main things the trailer highlights is the improved visuals of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and they do look like an overhaul thanks to the RE Engine they’re now in. From how the facial expressions look to the smaller details of the characters and so on, they all look fresh and improved. There are new voice actors in the mix, but some of the more iconic lines of the original game are still totally in play. Plus, there’s zombie madness going on, so that’ll be enough for players to enjoy it.

Not to mention, the “core gameplay” is intact via being able to roam around the shopping mall and do what you want within it. You can choose to do all the main quests and side missions to help out other survivors and learn the truth about what’s going on, or you can simply go around and kill as many zombies as you can with whatever tools you pick up. The choice is yours.
