Baldur’s Gate 3 was a huge hit when it launched into the marketplace. Players are still enjoying the game today, and Larian Studios has continued to provide support. In fact, one of the latest big updates to the game offered the ability to use official mod tools and a mod browser. However, these sets of mod tools were limited. That was until someone managed to break in and unlock a robust toolkit.
Thanks to PC Gamer, we’re discovering that Siegfre, a modder, uploaded the BG3 Toolkit Unlocked on Nexus. This modded toolkit is a far more robust set of tools for players. PC Gamer notes that we didn’t get a full sweep of tools from the studio because the team did not have the bandwidth to support them. But this mod will give players far more access than Larian Studios initially had planned.
It’s noted that with this BG3 Toolkit Unlocked, players can gain access to a full-level editor. There’s also the ability to restore cut content, giving players even more content to go through that Larian Studios had initially scrapped. Regardless, that should give Baldur’s Gate 3 far more replay value, with players being able to bring in new quests for others to enjoy.
After all, we just saw Fallout London’s release, a mod the size of a full DLC expansion for Fallout 4. With as much love and positive reception as the mod received, we could see something similar happen to Baldur’s Gate 3. That said, it’s only a matter of time to see not only what new content fans can come up with but also what content was scrapped that never had the chance to see the light of day.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is readily available today if you haven’t already played this RPG. Players can find access to the game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. In the meantime, you can view our Before You Buy video coverage of the game embedded below.
