Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble 2024 Roadmap Revealed

July 31, 2024 by Carley Garcia

New characters and new multiplayer stages are on the way.

According to a newly revealed roadmap, more multiplayer stages and additional characters are on the way in Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble. This week, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy were added to the Sega title.

The 2024 Roadmap includes the following:

July 2024

  • New multiplayer stage (free)
  • Tails, Knuckles & Amy (out this week)

September 2024

  • New multiplayer mode (free)
  • Axel & Beat (Jet Set Radio)
  • Sega costume pack

Late 2024

  • New multiplayer stages (free)
  • New multiplayer modes (free)
  • Additional characters

The Super Monkey Ball series debuted in 2001 with the arcade game Monkey Ball, which was later ported to the GameCube. Since then, 20 games have followed, with the upcoming Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble set to be the 21st in the series.

The newest game in the series features robust multiplayer features, allowing players to take part in races in a two-player local match or bring the heat with up to 16 players in a new online mode. It’s also possible to play with 15 bots, perfect for players who’d rather get some practice in.

Ba-BOOM! mode is another new option, tasking players with passing a bomb to their opponents. Players not holding onto the bomb at the end of the round will be rewarded with points.

Items can be purchased in the in-game shop using points earned from playing the game regularly. Players who engage in Battle Mode online against random opponents can also earn a daily bonus item. Seasonal items will also be added throughout the year.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble was released on the Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2024. The game includes over 300 items that can be used to customize your character, including headwear, clothing, and accessories.
