Undoubtedly, one of the biggest announcements from yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was that of The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom. After all, not only was it ANOTHER game in the franchise a little over a year after the last mainline entry, but it was one that featured Zelda as the protagonist! That got numerous people talking about the game’s potential and what the next entries could hold for Zelda and Link. Given the shocking reveal, people have been looking for any kind of extra detail that could point to certain things about the game. Thankfully, some eagle-eyed fans found a key detail that could point to something else you might want to buy.
Specifically, Amiibo News pointed out that on the game’s official page there is a stamp that is a reference to Amiibo. That stamp has been on all other titles that feature Amiibo support, thus, it goes to reason that this game will not only get said support, but could also feature Amiibo of its own. An excellent example of this comes from the last two entries in this franchise.
Both Tears of the Kingdom and the remake of Link’s Awakening got new Amiibo to celebrate its arrival, so The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom could easily do the same. It’s not hard to predict what kind of Amiibo we would get, either, as Zelda is the main character, and she hasn’t had an Amiibo of her in this particular art style. Remember, she wasn’t in the remake of the Game Boy title, so there was no need to have an Amiibo of her there.
However, with her new look and new abilities, now is the perfect time to make a new Zelda Amiibo and showcase her new standing in the upcoming game. Typically, the Amiibo within these games provides special items or outfits to the characters inside. Perhaps, given the new “echoes” ability, the Amiibo will give people a chance to make echoes of items that are tied to the series that aren’t in the main game itself, giving more options for players as they progress.
While all of this is still speculation, it does seem like at least one new Amiibo is coming, and that will excite many fans, especially those who are collectors of the line.
If nothing else, Nintendo knows how to make bank off its games in special ways, and now people can be excited for not just the unique new title, but the Amiibo that likely will arrive at launch on September 26th.
