Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble Battle Modes Detailed

April 24, 2024 by Carley Garcia

There’s plenty of new content to keep you busy in the newest iteration of the long-running series.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is only two months away, and ahead of its release, Sega has released a new trailer and tons of information about the game’s multiplayer battle modes. Players can join the race in a two-player local match or bring the heat with up to 16 players in the new online mode. If you don’t want to embarass yourself in front of strangers, you can also choose to play with 15 bots.

Check out the wacky new trailer below:

Along with standard races, the Banana Hunt mode will add some extra difficulty. “The goal of Banana Hunt is simple – collect as many bananas as you can! Be on the lookout for the Banana Cloud that will randomly appear and rain down lots of Banana Bunches,” the description reads. “During the last 30 seconds of the match, Fever Time will activate and Banana Bunches will appear all over the stage, so try to get lots of points before time runs out!”

Ba-BOOM! mode is another new option, tasking players with passing a bomb to their opponents. Players not holding onto the bomb at the end of the round will be rewarded with points.

In the Goal Rush team-based mode, players must roll through goals to gain points while working together to get more points than the opposing team. At the end of the match, points are tallied for each goal that matches the team’s color.

Finally, in Robot Smash mode, two teams compete against each other by beating up giant robots. Whoever does the most damage wins.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble will be released on the Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2024.
