The Pokemon Company almost always posts a April Fools joke every year on the first of April, that is part of how Pokemon Sleep came to be a mobile game gamers could play on the go. Pokemon GO started out as a April Fools joke where on the day, people could see little Pokemon pop up on their Google maps, everyone loved it and started driving around to different locations to find said Pokemon. After The Pokemon Company discovered how much people loved this idea, Pokemon GO was born.
Ever since, The Pokemon Company has participated in April Fools pranks. This years joke is especially funny as it involved Pokemon Sleep. This game just released last year in 2023, allowing players to track their sleep and gain Pokemon in their sleep, including hunt for Shiny Pokemon with the better their sleep schedule is. This game has been one many fans have loved, but according to Video Game Chronicles the company released a prank that the next Championship will be for Pokemon Sleep.
After watching the teaser video they put together, it shows someone winning the Pokemon Sleep Championship for doing the best at competitive sleeping…which is quite hilarious. While this would be an amazing championship to have, we all can tell this is clearly their April Fools joke.
We very much so doubt that because of this fake championship video we will see a Pokemon Sleep Championship happen like it did for Pokemon GO. Nevertheless, this prank is one of the best ones to date.
