Since the release of the Falcon Lost update for The Division, the game has seen a multitude of exploits that allowed players to gain loot through means unintended by the game’s developers at Ubisoft. The update was released with a ton of bugs, many of which have hampered the whole experience. Its developers have been under immense pressure to do right by the game’s playerbase, and they haven’t been making all of the right steps. Threatening to ban players for exploiting bugs rather than fixing simply taking the time to fix them raised the ire of many players.
To that end, the studio has announced a scheduled maintenance period for today, on April 21, to release a new update intending to address some of the game’s many existing issues. The patch will specifically deal with bugs introduced by the Falcon Lost update and other gameplay and user interface problems.
Here’s what’s coming:
Falcon Lost
- The APC will now only take damage from C4
- Characters will now be killed when going inside the spawn closet
Gameplay
- Weapon mods added automatically to a newly crafted weapon can now be deconstructed properly
UI
- Fixed an issue where items from the Reward Claim Vendor would be granted abnormally
- PC: Fixed an issue where using ASCII code in in-game chat could lead to client crash
While the patch certainly won’t alleviate all of the game’s problems–crafting remains as unrewarding as ever–it’s a good step towards fixing what’s wrong with the game. Cheaters, however, are expected to remain a problem on the PC version of the game.
