Voice Actor Claims Leaks Killed The Damian Wayne Batman Game

January 23, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Remember Project Sabbath?

Do you recall Project Sabbath? We don’t fault you if the game project escaped your mind. It was a project that leaked out online a few years ago, and it unveiled a new Batman title. But rather than playing as the Bruce Wayne Dark Knight, we instead were supposed to step into an older Damian Wayne Batman. Unfortunately, fans never got a chance to see how this game would have held up to the Arkham installments that were released over the years. Instead, the project was killed off, and now we’re getting some insight into why the developers opted not to proceed with the game.

Thanks to a report from PCGamesN, we’re finding out that Josh Keaton brought up Project Sabbath. If you’re unaware, Josh Keaton is a voice actor, and during a livestream, the conversation of Batman came up. Josh noted that he was actually going to voice Batman in a game at one point. Details were pretty light on the matter, but Josh noted that he wouldn’t play Bruce Wayne but a different Batman. That lines up with Project Sabbath, and then he went on to state that there were only a few recording sessions that happened.

Apparently, after a few sessions, the game’s entire concept leaked online, prompting the developers to scrap the entire game. Likewise, while it would be a Batman game, this particular game wouldn’t have been attached to the Arkham series. Again, details are scarce on this game, and while fans might have been excited to see this game even after leaks emerged online spoiling what was being developed, it’s unfortunate that we’ll never see the title come out beyond the leaked concept art.

With that said, we do have another DC Comics-based game coming out our way next month. This game might not be directly tied to Batman, but we are getting a Suicide Squad title. I’m sure you’re well aware of the title, but Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is the next major release from Rocksteady Studios, the folks who brought out the Batman Arkham titles. We’ll get our hands on the game next month as we watch Task Force X attempt to take down a brainwashed Justice League. We even know some plans in place to keep players logging in regularly even after the main campaign credits roll.
