Xbox Developer Direct Confirmed For January 18

January 9, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Here are the confirmed games set to make an appearance.

Like last year, we have an Xbox Developer Direct to participate in this month. There were rumors that an Xbox Developer Direct would happen sometime next week, and today, we got the confirmation that this will be the case. Now, details on what will be featured are still scarce. But through the official Xbox Wire, there have been some titles that players can expect to see an update. So mark down your calendar as the stream will take place on January 18, 2024.

If you’re keen on knowing a bit more about some of the Xbox exclusives heading our way, then get ready. The Xbox Developer Direct will start streaming at 3 PM ET. You’ll find the stream available on both YouTube and Twitch, where we’ll get some updates on the upcoming games heading out onto the Xbox platform. But don’t expect anything in regards to Activision Blizzard. That might have been something fans were hopeful of seeing, but on Xbox Wire, the post alerts readers that information from these teams will come later on in the year.

So, while we can’t count on any updates from the teams that make up Activision Blizzard, some notable titles will be highlighted. For instance, the upcoming games that will have an appearance are the Indiana Jones title by MachineGames, Obsidian Entertainment Avowed, Oxide Games’ Ara: History Untold, and Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. Now, those are the games confirmed to be showcased; there’s always the possibility that a few more games will be highlighted for players who tune into the stream.

For instance, there are some fans hopeful that we’ll get a surprise announcement and release. If you recall, we saw the announcement of Hi-Fi Rush last year, which launched on Xbox Game Pass later that day. Whether we’ll get another surprise announcement and release remains to be seen. Fortunately, we don’t have to endure too long of a wait.

Unlike some of the other media events that take place, the Xbox Developer Direct focuses on the actual developers working on the project to highlight updates. So we should see some footage from these various studios and the heads speaking on the game and providing a small update on how the development is progressing. Again, you can mark down your calendars; as of January 18, 2024, we’ll see the Xbox Developer Direct begin streaming at 3 PM ET.
