Pixel Hero Games, best known for their action title Spiral, has announced that Warhammer 40,000 Eisenhorn: Xenos will be released on PC via Steam on May 19th and will come to mobile platforms later.
The game is an adaptation of Dan Abnett’s first book in the Eisenhorn trilogy.
Players will follow the story of Gregor Eisenhorn (who’s voiced by Mark Strong) on his quest to unearth an ancient tome of dark origin. As a member of the alien hunter group known as the Ordo Xenos, the game unfolds over an eleven hour single-player campaign and you’ll be able to use a wide range of weapons, psychic powers, and various stealth mechanics.
Nader Alikhani, Pixel Hero Games’ studio head, commented in a press release about his enthusiasm for working on the Warhammer franchise. “We are tremendously excited to be working with Games Workshop on such a unique project. Adapting the incredibly rich source material of ‘Xenos‘ into a compelling adventure game, and allowing players to experience the inner workings of the Imperium of man through Eisenhorn’s fabled eyes is an opportunity I’m sure no fan will want to miss,” he said.
Games Workshop’s head of licensing Jon Gillard added that Pixel Hero Games has “captured the look and feel of the Xenos novel wonderfully, and this distinctive take will allow players to interact with the Warhammer 40,000 universe in ways not seen before.”
The Standard PC version of Eisenhorn: Xenos is priced at $24.99/£18.99/€22.99 while a ‘Deluxe Edition’ including a copy of the soundtrack and a specially made digital art book will be available for $34.99/£26.99/€31.99.
An iOS and Android version will be released at a later time.
