I think it’s safe to say Konami’s work lately has been questionable. It’s been that way for a few years though more recently than ever. From fans of the Silent Hill series losing out on a promising installment to the franchise and even the split between Hideo Kojima and Konami, no one could have suspected Konami using its Metal Gear franchise for the use of a car ad.
At this time point there’s no telling what we’re going to see Konami do next with some of their most beloved franchises. Recently, Konami released new ads that took scenes from the previously released Metal Gear Solid video game to help promote Ford.

This really sounds off key, but maybe I’m alone on this one. The first video is a scene between a Codec call with Colonel Campbell followed by a Psycho Mantis scene. Regardless, the fan feedback seems to be mixed, some enjoyed the new Metal Gear Ford plugs while others are completely writing off Konami.
Interestingly enough, David Hayter actually came back to voice the role of Snake. Unfortunately, it’s probably not the big callback he was looking for with longtime fan favorite character.
We want to know your thoughts on the new Konami Ford videos. Do you feel this will help sell cars for Ford or do you think Konami is overstepping their boundaries with this one? Either way, let us know what you think by leaving a comment down below.
