A new trailer for the Warhammer 40,000-set Battlefleet Gothic: Armada has revealed the Eldar fleet before it joins the game’s beta next week.
A press release accompanying the trailer notes that Eldar ships are quick, highly manoeuvrable, and capable of packing quite a punch. Whereas the Imperium has a more balanced fighting style, Chaos’ forces opt long range attacks, and the Ork’s go in for brutal moves, the Eldar adopt guerilla tactics in their struggle for supremacy. The faction offers a new way of approaching the game and additional tactical options for players.
This ancient alien race bases their strategy on “hit-and-run assaults, taking their targets by surprise while inflicting maximum damage. Eldar ships are as fast as they are fragile – they lack in any heavy armour. With the exception of their battleships, their craft are not fitted with shields, instead relying on advanced Holo-fields in conjunction with their speed and agility to avoid incoming fire. This makes them extremely hard to track and hit with conventional weaponry. Destroying Eldar ships’ engines is the best way to keep them at close-range, ensuring you have enough time to inflict lethal damage.”

Almost 100,000 pre-orders have been made for the game ahead of its release in two weeks and developer Tindalos Interactive is looking for balance feedback from players ahead of the launch on April 21st.
Those who pre-order the game’s Early Adopters Edition will receive the Space Marines fleet and an additional fleet which will be detailed shortly for free. If you pre-order now, you’ll gain instant access to the beta but the Early Adopters Edition will remain available for two months after release.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada is set for release on April 21st on PC.
