Diablo IV Confirmed To Receive At Least Two Expansions

June 5, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Blizzard Entertainment seeks to make Diablo IV sustainable with new content.

Diablo IV is finally here. While the early access players had been enjoying the game since June 1, the full launch was set for today. So while some of us will just get to start off on our journey into this action RPG, developers are well ahead of the curve on the content they are turning out into the title. We don’t know just when exactly some of this content will land in Diablo IV, but for now, most of us will be chipping away at the main campaign for a good while.

At any rate, thanks to a report by The Gamer, we’re finding out that Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson was interviewed on Kinda Funny Games. During the podcast, Rod revealed that the team is in a state of always shipping. There’s a plan placed out to keep the game fresh with content that includes seasonal launches and expansions. Currently, the development team over at Blizzard Entertainment has already reached the end of season one content and has begun work on season two.

Furthermore, the studio has already started the work on the first expansion for Diablo IV and will be kicking off work going into the second expansion. This was all the content that was being put into the game before it even made the full launch into the marketplace. So there’s quite a bit of content lined up for this game long after you finish the campaign. Meanwhile, we don’t know if there are plans to ensure a third expansion is being considered or if we’re just only receiving two expansions with this game.

At any rate, it looks like fans of the Diablo franchise will have a reason to play Diablo IV for the long haul. Of course, if this is your first time joining this franchise, then we have you covered. We have a series of guides specifically made just for Diablo IV. Included is the first big decision you will be making in the game, which is what class you want to progress through the game with. Five classes are available in Diablo IV, and we have a beginner’s guide on which class you might want to pick. You can check out the full class breakdown in Diablo IV right here.

Currently, Diablo IV is available to pick up and play today. For those of you who have yet to grab a copy of the game, you can purchase the game right now for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, you can check out the game trailer for Diablo IV in the video we have embedded above.
